How to choose a monday.com implementation partner: the questions to ask

To choose a monday.com implementation partner, talk to two or three, and pick the one who asks the most about how your team works before they talk about price. A good partner looks at your real setup, a short screen recording or a workflow form, then gives you a fixed scope, timeline and price, and plans how your team will run the system after they leave. The partner’s tier matters less than whether they have built something like yours before. Below are the questions I’d ask, what the answers tell you, and the red flags to watch for.

I run Wild 6, a monday.com Silver Partner, so I’m one of the people you’d be choosing between. I’ve tried to write this so it’s useful whoever you hire.

Where do you find monday.com partners?

Start with monday.com’s own partner directory, at monday.com/gotopartners. On 23 October 2026 it listed 209 partners, and you can filter by country, language, industry and the kind of work you need, or leave your details in its Partner Matchmaker.

Three things from monday.com’s own FAQ are worth knowing:

  • Every partner offers a free introductory call, so talking to two or three costs you nothing but time.
  • The price on a partner’s profile is a minimum project cost, not a quote.
  • monday.com encourages you to contact more than one partner, so you can compare.

What should you ask on the first call?

Question What a good answer sounds like
Have you built something like this before? They name a client like you, or describe one in detail
Can you see how we work today before you quote? Yes: a screen recording, a workflow form or a walkthrough call
What exactly will you build? A written scope listing boards, automations, integrations and training
How long will it take? A timeline tied to that scope, with what they need from you and when
Who will do the work? Names, and whether you work with the same person throughout
How will our team learn it? Live training plus recordings, and one person on your side who owns it
What happens after launch? A clear support option, with a price
What could make this take longer? An honest list: messy data, slow decisions, extra integrations

Should you hire a freelancer or a partner agency?

Both can do good work. A freelancer, often found on Upwork or Fiverr, suits one clear task: a single board, an automation or a fix. A partner agency suits a system several teams will share, such as a CRM with projects, dashboards and integrations, because a team can keep the work moving when one person is away.

To be honest, we’re on Upwork and Fiverr ourselves, because some clients start there. If your job is small and clear, a good freelancer is a sensible choice.

What does a partner’s tier tell you?

monday.com lists partners at five levels: Authorized, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. On 23 October 2026 its directory showed 68 Platinum, 42 Gold, 71 Silver, 19 Bronze and 9 Authorized partners. Some also carry badges, such as Advanced delivery or CRM specialist.

A tier tells you where a partner sits in monday.com’s partner program. It doesn’t tell you whether they’ve built for a business like yours, or who will do your work. Use the tier to make your shortlist, and the first call to choose.

What are the red flags?

  • A price before they’ve seen how you work. A quote from a five-minute call is a guess.
  • No written scope. If it isn’t written down, you can’t tell what you paid for.
  • Every answer is “yes”. Good partners tell you what they’d leave out, and when a simpler setup would do.
  • No plan for training. If only the partner understands the system, you’ll pay them every time something changes.
  • No named examples. They can’t name or describe a single client like you.
  • AI first, workflow second. AI works best on clean data and a clear process. A partner who starts with AI before fixing either is selling the wrong thing first.

What does a fair quote look like?

It lists what will be built, the hours or a fixed price, the timeline, what you need to provide, what training is included, and what support costs afterwards.

For comparison, at Wild 6 consulting is $175 an hour, our smallest package is 10 hours for $1,750, and most scoped projects start around $3,500. A full build, where we build it and train you, usually takes two to three weeks once the scope is agreed. A collaborative build, where your team builds it with us on screen shares, takes four to five weeks. See what a monday.com implementation costs and how long a monday.com implementation takes.

What should you prepare before you talk to partners?

  1. A short screen recording of how you track work today, even if it’s a spreadsheet.
  2. A list of who needs to edit and who only needs to see. It decides your seat count and your permissions.
  3. The one or two things that keep going wrong. That’s where the project should start.
  4. Your data, exported, even if it’s messy. A partner can tell you how much cleanup it needs.
  5. One person who can say yes. Projects slow down most when nobody can decide.

When MSU Research Foundation sent us its access lists for each team before we set permissions, it saved a round of rework.

Who is Wild 6 not the right partner for?

We’d rather say it on the first call. We’re not the right partner if you’re looking for the cheapest possible build, if nobody on your team can own the system afterward, or if you want AI added before your data and workflows are in order.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a monday.com partner, or can we set it up ourselves?

Many small teams set up simple boards themselves. A partner helps most when several teams will share one system, when you’re moving from another CRM, or when you need integrations and dashboards. If you’re moving from HubSpot, see what changes when you move to monday CRM.

Is a Platinum partner better than a Silver partner?

Not automatically. A tier tells you a partner’s level in monday.com’s program, not whether they’ve built for a business like yours. Ask each one for an example like yours.

How many partners should I talk to?

Two or three is usually enough. Every partner listed in monday.com’s directory offers a free introductory call, and monday.com encourages contacting more than one.

What does a monday.com partner cost?

Prices vary by partner and project. The price on a directory profile is a minimum project cost. At Wild 6, the smallest engagement is a 10-hour package for $1,750; see our real prices.
