How long does a monday.com implementation take?

At Wild 6, a monday.com implementation takes two to three weeks for a full build once the scope is agreed, or four to five weeks for a collaborative build, where your team builds it with us. A first CRM, the system that tracks your leads, clients and deals, can be done in about three weeks. Bigger projects, 35 to 50 hours of work, have run anywhere from about seven weeks to six months on the calendar, because the work fits around your team’s meetings, decisions and data. Below are the stages, real timelines from our own projects, and what makes a project take longer.

Type of project Typical hours How long it usually takes
A first CRM 16 to 25 Usually three weeks to a month
CRM plus project management 40 to 50 About seven weeks to six months, with a first working version much sooner
Moving from another CRM About 20, plus 5 to 20 for data cleanup Depends mostly on how clean your data is
AI Opportunity Sprint (finding where AI would help) Set by the package 2 weeks
AI transformation packages Set by the package Up to 8, 12 or 16 weeks, by package

What are the stages of a monday.com implementation?

Every project we run follows the same steps:

  1. You show us how you work. Send a short recording of your current setup, or fill in our workflow form. This takes you a few minutes and saves a lot of guessing.
  2. We send a fixed scope, timeline and price, usually within a day or two. The scope is a written plan of exactly what we’ll build.
  3. Kickoff call. We walk through the scope together and plan the work.
  4. The build. Either we build it and then train you, usually two to three weeks, or we build it together with your team on regular screen shares over four to five weeks.
  5. Review call and revisions. You use it on real work and tell us what to change.
  6. Training and handover. Live training, plus recorded videos your team can watch again, and that new hires can watch later.
  7. Support. You can add a block of support hours for later questions and changes. Unused support hours carry over for three months.

How long did our real projects take?

These are real projects from our records, with the hours worked and the dates from start to finish.

Client What we built Hours Start to finish
Fallbach Mortgage Their first CRM: leads, contacts, views and alerts, email sequences, training 16 Three weeks, March 2025
Monarch Commercial Capital A CRM with one main sales pipeline plus one for each person, lender tracking, lead forms, dashboards and training 20 July 2025
Ohio Cattlemen’s Association A CRM and event projects for two organizations, built together with their team 45 About seven weeks, June to July 2026
Calvary Orlando Payments through Stripe, documents, forms, a dashboard and one-on-one training 35 March to May 2025
Dwight Healthcare Funding A CRM with rules for who can move each deal forward, plus Zapier and DocuSign 50 First working version by early October 2025, finished February 2026
MSU Research Foundation Salesforce data moved in, a new investment workspace, permissions by team 20 November 2025 to April 2026

Two things stand out. Small projects finish fast: Fallbach Mortgage’s first CRM was 16 hours and done in three weeks. And on larger projects, the hours and the calendar are two different things. MSU Research Foundation’s 20 hours ran over about five months, because the work was broken into small tasks we finished and showed between meetings.

What makes a monday.com implementation take longer?

To be honest, it’s rarely the building. It’s usually one of these:

  • Messy data. Moving from another CRM takes about 20 hours, and cleaning the data adds another 5 to 20. If you’re tracking everything in a giant spreadsheet with a million columns, the cleanup is the real project.
  • No one who can decide. When three people each own part of the process and nobody owns the whole, every board (monday.com’s shared, spreadsheet-like lists) waits for a meeting.
  • Access and permissions decided late. MSU Research Foundation sent us its access lists for each team before we set permissions, and that saved a round of rework.
  • The scope growing halfway. It happens. When an urgent need came up in the middle of the MSU project, we held a separate build session for it rather than stretching the main plan.
  • Connecting other tools. Each connection, like a loan system, DocuSign or Zapier (a tool that passes information between apps), adds setup and testing. For Fallbach Mortgage, we connected their loan system in later blocks of hours, after the CRM was already running.

How do you make it faster?

  • Send a recording before the first call. We scope from what you actually do, not from a description.
  • Name one person who decides. One yes or no saves days.
  • Export your data early, even if it’s messy. We’ll tell you what needs cleaning.
  • Pick the build that fits. A full build is fastest. A collaborative build takes a couple of weeks longer, but your team knows the system inside out when it’s done.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a monday.com workflow automation setup take?

Simple automations are part of the build and are quick to set up. A full setup with boards, automations, dashboards and training usually takes two to three weeks once the scope is agreed. AI workflows and agents take longer: our AI packages run up to 8, 12 or 16 weeks.

Can monday.com be set up in a few weeks?

Yes, for a focused setup. Fallbach Mortgage’s first CRM was done in three weeks. Larger systems take longer on the calendar, but you can use a first working version long before everything is finished.

What’s the difference between a full build and a collaborative build?

In a full build, we build it and then train your team, usually in two to three weeks. In a collaborative build, your team builds it with us on regular screen shares over four to five weeks, and learns the system as it’s built.

How long does it take to move from Salesforce or another CRM?

The move itself is usually about 20 hours, plus 5 to 20 hours of data cleanup. See how we moved MSU Research Foundation from Salesforce to monday.com.

How much does a monday.com implementation cost?

It depends on the hours. See what a monday.com implementation costs, with our real prices.
